To SIM card or not to Sim

#1 Post by ShellieACarlson » Tue Feb 03, 2026 9:09 am

I have a SIM card slot on my Thinkpads. Have anyone here gone to the trouble of installing the WWAN card and run a SIM. If it worth the trouble, or is it better to just use you phones "Hot Spot" when there is no WiFi? I seems kinda cool.
Thanks,
Shellie :screwy:

Not once could I find a use for the built-in SIM card slot of a laptop. I guess if you are on-the-go a lot, and if your provider is willing to give you a second SIM for free / cheaply, or you can get a cheap data plan, then it can be useful, if only for not depending on your phone.
