Hello everyone....

I have a Lenovo R61i and my battery seems to be dead. I could only get about 10 minutes on full charge. After reading some articles I have froze the battery in a freezer over night and when I tried using it again I got about 30 minute life on it.

I have downloaded BatteryBar program that says battery wear is 61.5%. Is there any way to fix that or do I have to buy a new battery?

Also which battery should I get. I found battery for my laptop on Google for about $30. The problem is I dont know which one to get. What is the difference between the batterys and what should I look for in the specifications?

Chemistry Li-Ion
Voltage 10.8 V
Capacity 6600 mAh OR 84WHR 7800mAh
Rating 71 Whr
Cell 9 cells
Certifications CE

Get an original IBM/Lenovo-branded (OEM) battery.
Anything else will cause problems.

I just priced one at IBM for my R61. It was $131.00. I'll order it soon, as mine can only store 58% of its full charge capacity.

You can run it just from the AC adapter, without a battery...
