how to clean/restore hardware finish?

#1 Post by jaobedoza » Sat Oct 29, 2011 11:28 pm

i've been seeing a number of t60/p at the market place that are in outstanding cosmetic condition, especially from thinkpad lover :)

how do you guys clean the plastics to restore that black finish. i'm having trouble removing security stickers in particular. its hard to remove them without scratching, and if you manage to get them off without scratches you have to deal with the uneven color of the portion under the sticker.

Stickers will come of with "Goo Gone" with Citrus Power.
You can use it everywhere outside, and inside on palmrest + keyboard.
For the LCD, look for "Liquid Gold Clean Screen".

Mr Clean Magic erasur works wonders on the laptop lid. Clean the lid with the erasur, then wipe with a clean paper towel. It makes the lid look brand new.
