External screen for t60p UXGA (photographer)

#1 Post by woomaa » Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:00 am

I want to buy external display for my t60p and the main condition is: the screen must be as good as t60p's UXGA screen. Can anyone recommend me good display?

Plenty of good displays around (although I don't know what exactly is available in Poland).

But you need to think more about the price range, and the desired size/resolution.
Current: X220 4291-4BG, T410 2537-R46, T60 1952-F76, T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G
Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U

Price - more less>much better.

Maybe question shoul be like that: What is the cheapest external alternative to t60p flexview screen?

Define "alternative".

Asking again: What screen size and what resolution are you looking for?

Are you looking to buy only new, or will you consider used, out-of-production models?

The Dell U2212HM might be worth a look if it's offered over there.

You will probably want an IPS monitor if you want to match the Flexview. You may be perfectly happy with a PVA though.

The best you can do in UXGA is the NEC 2090uxi. Its also called a Lacie 320. (though Lacie has a problem with not updating model numbers, you have to look at the base to know the correct generation)

NEC 2090uxi has the TW polarizer to remove the IPS black glow at angles. It is also hardware calibratiable.

There is a 2190uxi but it is very rare, You may be able to find a NEC 2180ux for an exellent price.

There is a HP LP2475 which is probably the cheapist IPS in widescreen 24

If you want probably the lowest price but still with high quality...the Dell 2007fp you just have to be careful to actually get the IPS panel, they started putting in PVA panels.

and there is this http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/s-ips-lcd-list.php

I like the Dell U2412M I just got. 24" IPS, 1920x1200 (16:10). I'm using it with a T42P (VGA), as well as with my desktop (DVI).
T42p (RIP) 2373P64; T60 2623D6U 3/75GB; T60p 2007FHG 3/60GB SSD UXGA
X61s 76693JG 4/150GB; T500 2089W8J 4/256GB SSD WUXGA
On all: Win7, TPFC, DFX Audio Enhancer, FireMin, MegaSync, AutoHotKey
