As far as I can tell, the most complete configuration for a Docking Station that you can get is a Mini Dock Plus Series 3 (170W)... is this correct..? Now, does this dock have an expansion port to accomodate a HDD...? Unless my Alzheimers has taken over bigtime, didnt a previous version of the IBM Docking station have expansion slots for things like an additional drive and even things like video cards, etc...?
Thanks.

In the past you could get a dock with an ultrabay drive slot and a 1/2 height card slot if I'm not mistaken. I do not believe that any of the current generation docks support either of those. I have a Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus series 3 for mobile workstations (with the 135w adapter) on the desk I'm typing this from and it has no such expansion options.
However, it does have an eSATA port and I do have an external drive in an enclosure connected via that interface.

Ah... thanks. So given the last sentence in your above post you do get the option to have another storage option/drive only it has to be an external rather than internal solution. Thanks.
