HDD tray stuck

I've recently tried to change HDD in my fiancee's R61e and it looks as if one of the rubber elements were worn out. In result of which I can't move the HDD at all in neither direction. I don't want to use brute force on it so maybe someone did experience a similar issue and knows a working solution.

edit: For all interested - I removed the base cover and plugged the HDD in. Hope it won't fail anytime soon
