Lenovo Solution Center

I happened upon This piece of work while updating my system. Looks like the PC-Doctor based ThinkVantage Toolbox is EOL.

i'll begin with the worst thing - pressing the thinkvantage button does not invoke this replacement utility

the user interface has been prettied up, but they've done a horrible job of it. the Text is badly kerned, it looks fuzzy on a 1600X900 screen - how??

I'll admit - it works MUCH faster than the Toolbox-it is snappy and responsive, but Lenovo needs to put in a LOT of work in this one.

Uninstalled.

This is typical bloatware. I use on my x220 tablet from Lenovo utilities only System update (to load drivers after clean widows install) and Power manager. Even the system update could be uninstalled now when I have all installed and working - btw I hate updating something just because new verison is out - I can remember many times I messed up something 100% working just because I updated SW "just to be up to date".

Everything else from Lenovo is useless SW.

Interesting, and tends to confirm my suspicions. I don't know if the LSC actually adds functionality to the Win 7 OS (as opposed to convenience of finding). Since it requires Adobe AIR, of which I'm leery due to Acrobat and Flash holes, I'm tempted to uninstall both LSC and AIR. (I got that message that AIR was needed for something after I first removed it.)

I just pressed the ThinkVantage Button on my X230 Tablet and the LSC popped right up. Granted, I don't use LSC much, but it does provide easy access to my machine's warranty and system information.

Yes, it's useless.
Yes, it displays incorrectly on the 1600 x 900 with an awful font.

How does one close it once opened? On my machine, there is nothing in the upper right corner to click to close the window.

See if ALT+F4 does it.

And if that doesn't work, try the time-honored tradition going back to the DOS days.... Hit the ESC key when the window has focus.
