Wake from external keyboard?

#1 Post by Vectorz » Fri Jul 20, 2012 4:48 am

I have an r51 on a dock using external ps/2 keyboard and I can use the sleep button on this ps/2 keyboard to suspend however I cannot wake it unless I use the built in laptop keyboard power button. Is there a way to get external keyboard or mouse to wake it?

Good question. I would like to know myself.

Also, same question about USB keyboards.

I heard reports of it working on T/R/X61 and later series, but haven't figured out how to do it on T/R/X60 or earlier.

So if I do not have a BIOS option to allow wake on USB (my T42 doesn't seem to have it), then I'm out of luck on this one?

I double checked all of my USB Hub Devices in Device Manager and they all have the option to 'wake from sleep' GREYED out. My BIOS doesn't seem to have the option as stated above either. Can anyone confirm if these R51 class laptops have the ability or not?
