Hi all,
My 'new' W500 is pretty well-specced and I'd expect it would be faster than the Lenovo A57 desktop it's being used along side.
Here are the CPU/RAM specs for each:
W500: T9400 @ 2.53GHz, 6GB RAM, ATI V5700 GFX
A57: E4600 @ 2.40GHz, 4 GB RAM, Intel G33 intergrated
Both running Windows XP SP3 with the same settings/config.
However, the A57 is comfortably 10-20% faster (when tested with various benchmark and real-world tests).
Are there any settings in the BIOS or and specific chipset drivers I can look at to try and boost the performance of the W500?
Cheers,
Mike.
W500 speed seems down compared with a less-power desktop?

Most likely a difference in hard disks.
Stick an SSD in the W500, it'll run circles around the A57!
