ThinkPad Port Repicator II driver?

Hi all. My sister has an R52 that now sits atop a port replicator II. Is there a driver that is needed to utilize the dock? We are wondering as we tried hooking a USB optical mouse to the sole USB port of the dock upon which it did not work. I also noticed that in the options for either shutting down, sleep, and restart there is not an option for ejecting the ThinkPad from the dock. I know when I use the dock for my T400 an option for ejecting the ThinkPad from the dock exists and is reflected in the windows GUI. The Lenovo site does not seem to have a driver for the port replicator II. I tried restarting the R52 and also looked in BIOS but still no USB mouse support. Any ideas?

I thought the docks were mostly passive. Windows should be able to use them out of the box. Does the mouse light up when plugged in? And do other devices which go into the other ports function properly?
It's also quite possible that the dock might be broken.

Thanks for responding Latios :)

Hmmmm it does show on the Lenovo website and it does show that it is a pass-thru dock. I was thinking, however, that if it is connected directly to the motherboard then there should be some sort of software eject mechanism. The software eject mechanism would be wise since the user may have a USB flash drive or external hard drive hooked up to the dock's USB port. Abrupt termination in the connection is known to cause loss of data in which case some sort of eject utility would reflect a dock connection- there is none. I spent some time this morning looking for a driver and have found two programs that might help. I found the EasyEject Utility which I take is the little icon found on the lower right of the taskbar. That is already installed and seems to function correctly for all other peripherals except there is still no indication of a dock attached. There also is still no option to undock in the start menu. I wonder if installing the Presentation Director program might help?

I am curious about the other ports on the dock so I think I will try hooking the docked R52 to a monitor to see if the VGA port works.

I did get the dock for cheap which might be why it was priced so low :/
