18. To remove oily finger prints from the case, you can use the moist towelette from most restaurants/McDonald's/KFC's.

18. I prefer using Armor-All leather wipes. While I wouldn't go near my car with that crap, I find that it cleans rubberized surfaces without damaging the finish. YMMV.

Clorox Disenfecting Surface Wipes:
These work great for cleaning the case on a ThinkPad with the rubberized paintjob. Just be careful to blow all the loose dust off the case first. Also, keep the wipes away from the keyboard. Use compressed air for that, anything wet will simply cause the dust to go under the keyboard, which will eventually make things worse.

AK,
You might want to re-think that. I'll leave the post here for now, but Clorox = Bleach = Oxydizer!
I just fear it might be a bit too aggressive to use regularly on the finish.

Clorox BRAND. That does not maen it has bleach in it, in fact, if it did, I'd have a good false advertising suit against them considering the fron of the can says in blue and white bold letters "Bleach Free", I just finished reading the can. They are really just glorified moist towelettes. I would not have reccomended them if I knew of any bad ingredients and/or if it had a negative effect, and since niether of the two situations exist, my reccomendation stands. In fact, I should have done before and after pictures with the top of my 760E, the thing looks almost new now, whcih is better than when I recieved it. When I recieved it, it was covered in scuffs and spots and other imperfections in the paint. You just have to be carefull to blow all the dust off before using the wipes, otherwise they'll embed the dirt into the paint, as anything involving friction would.

Probably the same stuff they put in those alcohol free moist towelettes that you find at McDonalds. I'm really not too sure what's in the things, but so far, no negative effects have been noticed and I've been using these things one every two weeks for a month and a half now.

I just read the can, it has .29 percent various chlorides and 99.710 percent various other inactive ingredents. While yes, the chloride can be a corrosive, the .7 percent chloride will go as far in corroding the ThinkPad as the small percent of alcohol in mouthwash will go in getting you drunk. (You have to realy, really, really try at it)
Just be careful when using. As anything that gets rubbed againt the paintjob would, if you press down too hard and rub too vigorously, you might screw things up worse. I wipe the surface with gentle to moderate force and I use them about once every two or so weeks.
