Battery reset: LCD on or off?

When going through battery reset procedure, that time when the battery is draining for the last time, the LCD screen must be ON or OFF?

I have a non genuine Sanyo 8 cell in my X60 with 107 cycles; when showing 20-30 % battery (estimated remaining time about 2h), after 5 min the warning sign is showing 7% reserve and goes into hibernation.

Was the previous reset performed badly or is the battery bad?

It's probably a faulty battery. Recalibrating the meter will likely give a different reading, but won't make the battery perform much/any differently.

When doing the battery run down procedure, having the LCD on will drain the battery faster than having it off, but the end result will be the same. The battery will be drained.

I don't think it matters much whether the screen is on or off.

You can try the calibration again. If repeated calibrations don't fix the issue - it is likely a bad cell in the battery.

Thanks! First post but a fan of this community for a long time now...

I thought in the contrary, because between the LCD off or on, there is approximatively 4 to 5 hours difference
and so the approximation at the lower battery charge state can be erroneous.

The battery is almost three years old now but from the beginning it could give me no more than 4-5 hours in the library with the screen dimmed to 0 and wlan disabled. Wasnt a biggie, myself couldnt resist more than that to go out...

I think calibartion should be performed with the same power load you have in regular use. It looks like your cells have high internal resistance - under high load they drop voltage and are cosidered as "discharged". If you drain them slowly (with LCD off) they can deliver more energy. So calibrate with LCD on - you will get more accurate reading about battery % reamining later in use.
