To dock and or not to dock

#1 Post by DavidNZ » Tue May 03, 2005 12:45 am

Haven't quite resolved to picking up the Ultrabase for my X, but started to wonder: if I am regularly plugging and unplugging USB peripherals (an activitiy which will be reduced almost completely with the purchase of the Ultrabase), would I be saving worrisome wear and tear on my usb ports by using the ultrabase?

This should answer your question. I have 4 "loose" usb ports on 3 thinkpads (surprisingly, they all still work). I think my wife used an axe instead of a computer in a past life.
I got port replicators and bases on ebay and she has done no subsequent damage. Lifesaver for me.
