How does Dell D810 compare to IBM R51?

Hi All,
I know that IBM thinkpads are the best in terms of quality/build/support, etc...
But I've never owned a business notebook fro HP or DELL, so I can only say that consumer level Compaq and DELL are a lot worse than the IBM, (build wise, but better feature/price wise). Also, support on the consumer side for Compaq used to be worse. (note: I've never owned Dell, I just saw/felt their computer once and the thing looked like it would fal apart if I picked it up at the corner)
With that being said, it appears that D810 is made of magnesium and appears on the par with R51. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
VK
