I've had my (refurb) Dock II since yesterday and yes, it's a noisy beast! I know some contributors to these forums have quieted their Dock II's by disconncting the fan. I'm looking for some guidance in disassembling the Dock II (a hardware manual perhaps) so that I can get inside and disconnect the fan too. Any help - most appreciated!

I had my trouble with the noise from the fan in the SelectaDock-III.

I replaced it with the most silent Pabst fan I could find, that also would fit.

Huge difference

Right now...I'm on my way to make a near-HTPC out of it.
With the ThinkPad 770Z docked of course
