I have been applying Lenovo driver updates in regular way for many years. Now I had to rollback three drivers because of various issues lately. Is the software quality going down as well ?
There are links to the issues

I know that software is buggy but I don't think there used to be so many issues like now.

Lenovo also tends to ignore complaints about them as well.

Re: problem with virtual wifi adapters, try control panel => programs & features => intel proset/wireless => modify => remove the "Intel MyWifi" component.

These are Intel drivers (except maybe the Bluetooth one). Lenovo probably should not be blamed for these particular issues.

Aren't the drivers YMMV to an extent as well? I know that in the 'Read Me' text there is a suggestion that states "If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software." The times I have read the 'Read Me' text I find that the updates or fixes for the released version pretty much do not pertain to my model of ThinkPad. I therefore do not bother installing them.

The only reason for me to update are
security fixes of bugs that allow to run "data as code" on stack (buffer overflow). Such bugs can be easily exploited and must be fixed. Nothing else can prevent it especially when the bug is on kernel driver level. No anti-virus/malware/blahblah is sufficient, it is just useless thing providing false sense of security.

It is Lenovo OEM modification of original Intel driver. Yes, Intel might have done its part as well but Lenovo is resposible for technical support. I have also posted these issues to the Intel forum.
