Difference between Port Replicator 2 and Mini-Dock

#1 Post by xcrunner51 » Tue May 10, 2005 1:26 pm

I'm not quite sure what justifies the $100 price difference between the mini-dock and the port replicator 2, don't they essentially do the same thing? am i missing something?

If I'm not mistaken....the mini dock has 4 USB ports and a key to lock your thinkpad....while the replicator II has only 1 USB port.
-Thinkpad T23 1.2Ghz (2647-4RG) with Docking Station (2631)
-512MB RAM
-60GB Western Digital HDD
-3Com X-Jack Wireless A/B/G
-Imation External Combo DVD/CDRW
-Windows XP Pro SP2
-External 160GB Maxtor HDD

That sums it up well. With the port rep II, you have to fiddle with a kensington-style lock to secure your machine.
