Anyone here use a USB GPS with your ThinkPad?

What's best?
Any brand or model to avoid?
Big price range- what do I lose buying at the low end?

I have a Holux GM-210 that works well that can be had for $45 shipped on eBay. It got great reviews from what ive read and has a small footprint.

Ive used it with Microsoft MapPoint 2004 and Delorme Street Atlas 2005 and havent had any compatability issues. For navigation type stuff, I think Delorme is better (has voice commands and tells you a turn is coming up, shows heading and mph). Delorme also lists more places like restaurants and hotels and other businesses. But for ease of use, MapPoint/Streets and Trips is a lot better IMO.
One thing I had a problem with Street Atlas was that the GPS marker didnt follow the streets on the map. It would be off by maybe 50-100 feet when looking at the screen. I did not have that problem when I used MapPoint (but it didnt zoom in as close as Street Atlas).

I have a Garmin E-Map unit. I have had it for over 3 years. It works fine. What I like about it is, I can use it standalone or connected with my R31. If I'm off-roading with my ATV, I have a Handle bar mount to track and record trails. In my Pickup, I have a windshield mount for the E-Map and I built a console mount for the R31. Here I can go ON/Off road with full tracking and recording. The software I use for On road is Garmins MapSource and for off road I use TOPO. The maps are great and have all trails that were mapped in the last GeoPhyiscal study.

I've used the MS software quite a bit(though mine is old), but not the Delorme. Ten years or so ago I bought a Delorme product and didn't care for it.
The voice navigation seems attractive though, and I see I can get the bundle with the GPS and either software shipped for around $80-90.
johnson what's easier in your opinion about using the MS software? Is using the Delorme software more time consuming or are there too many buttons?
