How do I replace my 60GB 7200RPM with 100GB 7200RPM HD?

As many of you know Hitachi started shipping 7k100 HDs. I want to replace my 7K60 with 7K100. I am not an expert in this area. I do not have another computer to do that. I only have my T42p. Can some body tell me step by step how to format and clone the new one and replace the old one using a second hard disk adapter for ultra bay slim?
Once done...

Shall I have to clean install windows?
When cloning the existing HD...it will also carry the files, folders and firmware updates to the new one..... Will those files make conflict once replaced with the new HD?
Is it really hard?

Thanks in advance.

If you buy the 2nd hdrive adapter from ibm, it will come with cloning software with instructions on the software's website.
