Wireless Router

Anyone got a recommendation for a wireless router with good range. I have a NetGear B router at the momet. It works, but is sometimes slow. If it had a print server with a couple USB ports would be great too.

I've had Netgear, Linksys, Topcom and several other brands and the one which just keeps on working all day without problems is the linksys.
So in my opinion thats the best out there and at a very good price as well.

I recall hearing/reading somewhere that there are basically two manufacturers that cover all the major brands of wireless routers on the markets. What sets them apart, to some extent, is firmware.
I'm still chugging along on a Dlink 11b router - no need for g as the fastest download I can get is 2Mbps and I don't have a network (yet) in the house. I bought the Dlink because it was configurable with a browser, but I think they're all pretty much like that now...

I had a linksys and had lots of problems with it towards the end.
I have a Dlink now and so far so good.

Linksys WRT54G has a lot of aftermarket upgrades for it as well. The speedbooster model is also good. Aftermarket firmware available with a plethora of features. Good compatibility with all makers and speed is excellant.
If you need range as well I have had good success with the signal booster attached to my WRT54G. Linksys also makes a Cisco / Linksys bridge/switch that allows for remote LANs to be attached to a central wireless switch. Even includes STP protocol and traffic shaping.
If this all sounds like greek - then trust me - it's a good router.

I have had great success with D-Link. I have had an 11b for the last 4 years and it never missed a beat. I just up-graded to a D-Link DI-524 11 B/G about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't pass up the deal. Newegg was selling them for $19.00 after a $30.00 rebate. Ain't America great.

Same one I have, I got it for $25 in the fall after a $25 mail in rebate.
