WWAN card not being detected

I am using W500 with middleton's bios, so I assume it has black/white lists removed.
I took apart my Kindle 3g and got out form out a WWAN ePCI card, and a SIM card.
The WWAN card is AnyDATA, DTP-600W, as can be seen on this video around 5:10 mark:

I put it inside ThinkPad and booted. The laptop booted without a glitch. However, it looks like the card remains totally invisible.
In Linux, lspci nor lsusb list anything that could remotely be it.
In windows, there is nothing in Device Manager.
Any ideas?

Long shot, but worth a try:
BIOS>Config>Network>Wireless LAN and WiMAX Radios is it ON?

AFAIK Middleton's BIOS only works for T/R/X61 and X300 series. I've never tried to flash it on anything else.

Thanks for the suggestion, but yes, it is on.
On a side note, I am curious, whether it would be possible to put another WiFi card in place of that GSM module. Would ThinkPad detect it? After all, it is the same type of slot.

Middleton has modded the BIOS for several other TP models (incl. the W500), this is just not generally known...

Try taping over pin 20.

Thanks. That did it. Or at least looked like it did.
Covering Pin 20 resulted in the card not being disabled, so now I could see the WWAN LED on all the time.
However:
1 - the card remain undetected in neither Linux (lspci nor lsusb), nor in Windows 7.
2 - the laptop was unable to stay off. After powering it down, it was turning itself on, again (the same behaviour existed before covering pin 20)
So, what I think is happening is that this particular card is made specifically for Amazon Kindle, and is not compatible with other devices.
