I'm trying to add memory to my 560 laptops (2640) and have the folowing problem.
The memory is not seen by the system.
I tryed on two different mother boards and with two memorys (32mb nad 64mb) with the same result.
Both motherboards' tests and memory tests are fine.
There has to be a trick ... (but its not menschioned in the IBM manual).

Please help.... I know its an ald piece of hardware but I stil need it.

No tricks. What kind of dimms are you using? Which 2640 do you have?

Thanks for your reply.

I have two laptops:
1. Thinkpad 560 - 2640T95,
2. Thinkpad 560e 2640-300

I tested both of them with:
1. IBM 32MB 66Mhz 3.3v FRU 42H2819
2. Kingston 64MB - KTM-TP770/64

The same result. When is start them the memory counter does not show the upgrade.

The memory you have will not work with your 560 series machines, both of which require EDO memory.
