Lenovo ThinkPad Blu-ray Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive

Based on the reviews this is exactly what I'm looking for on my T430s. Why was this discontinued? Does anyone have OEM stock of these?

May be someone have one? What is the original maker (Panasonic or HL)? What is the original maker's model number - it is printed on the bottom side.
Sometimes it is possible to get non-lenovo burner and transfer plastic latches from old one. Main pain with the front bezel because it is unique for every notebook brand:(

I believe they were Panasonic drives. I'm curious given the average at best screen quality, why one would want to view movies on it? The other likely use is backups, but an external 2TB drive would hold 80 Blu rays worth of data and cost half as much not including media costs.

For my use, I'd be using a T410 or T420 with my HDTV (via the DisplayPort) as I don't already have a dedicated Blu-ray player.

Still more cost effective to buy a Blu ray player or two as needed.
