Thinkpad charger precautions for third world countries! XXX

In 3 weeks in India, I burnt no less than three electricity chargers.

Noone informed me in the past that the third world suffers of voltage swings and so called "electricity surcharges" (I think they're called), that instantly fry your charger.

The solution is buying a voltage filter and surcharge protector like the one attached. It's approx $9 and it will protect your device perfectly, the worst case would be that it itself would be fried and you need to get a new one.

When you turn it on, it starts for half a second or so, its relay then makes a "click" sound, the green lamp goes on, and your laptop is charigng.
