Do know what this called for blunt shaped bullet with gritty feel is? So I can look for them properly.

You can find them on fleabay if you search for the classic dome.

You are probably referring to the 'classic dome' cap. The nice thing about this cap is that it sits lower than the other trackpoint caps so there is a lower chance of marking the closed screen. The cap is also very easy to grip since it is roughly textured.

Awesome, Thanks, now know what to order them.
Nearly all of notebooks I have are soft domes and getting slippery.

Be careful, some of the cheaper ones on ebay are garbage quality; they go bald really quickly and don't quite fit properly.

Agreed. Many of the ones sold on ebay are counterfeits which use inferior rubber and aren't the 'ThinkPad red'. They're also poorly molded.
Ordering from Lenovo guarantees genuine ones, but sometimes you can find a good deal on ebay if you look hard. It helps to have real photos of the caps being sold so you can see if they're genuine or not.

These are fake:

These are fake:

These are fake:

These are fake:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Soft-Dome-Sty ... 2a26047401
It's pretty obvious once you look closely. If you happen to have physical TrackPoint caps in your possession, fake ones usually do not have letters printed on the underside (I have genuine standard caps that have "G" inside). Whereas the fakes do not.
I've ordered some rims from this seller before (they LOOK genuine to me and have the letters in the underside, if they're fakes, they're VERY good fakes):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3x-IBM-Lenovo-T ... 3a6e0c7099
And the standard domes:

And here are the "classic domes" in 10x quantity which I believe you wanted:

So I'd buy from 395six7 if you want some decent caps and not buy from Lenovo directly. Generally if the sellers state "genuine" and they don't look odd, they're
usually genuine. But I can vouch that those ones are very good.
Hope that helps.
