Would it be better to switch position of the track point?

I am right handed and I think it would be more comfortable having the track point between the H, J and N keys instead of dead center since I am always on the home keys. I have to stretch my pointing finger really far but moving the track point one key to the right would make it so I can have my all my fingers on the home keys and use the track point at the same time. I think this would be more ergonomic and efficient, but maybe I just have short fingers.
Anyone else think this?

I would say that the trackpoint is in the proper spot since most people (?) are not typing and moving the cursor around at the same time. I too am right-handed but moving the trackpoint between the H,J,N keys would put left-handed people at a disadvantage. Besides, the current placement feels right when "mousing". The right wrist is naturally angled (i.e., at rest) so that the index finger is on the top of the cap and the thumb is above the left trackpoint button. If you move the trackpoint one key to the right, then your right wrist will have to angle slightly to the right (while keeping the thumb in the same position above the trackpoint button). I'm sure this will lead to more wrist injuries. Or, if you slide your whole right hand over to the right to keep the same wrist angle, then you'll have to extend your thumb a little bit further left to hit the button. Doesn't feel right when I try it. Maybe I have short fingers too
