ThinkPads windows 7 fingerprint warning

#1 Post by ragonarf » Fri Feb 26, 2016 5:00 am

this is driving me nuts. X1 Carbon windows 7 64 bit. the finger print reader works fine but every time I boot I keep getting an event viewer warning event id 219 task category 212 The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_138A&PID_0017. I know I can ignore it but I like my thinkpads error/warning free.

what is weird is I had the exact same warning on my t60 s when I running win 7 a couple years ago. I was able to fix it by installing the upek driver contained in lenovos protector suite. unfortunately the x1 uses a different fp reader and protector suite will not run can anyone help

the system is completely updated windows and Lenovo/ :?
