I bought this. $5 delivered. NEC Reneseas UPD7202 chipset. Googled driver. Works fine granted I only use these for USB3 HDDs.

Problem I have with these is more a physical thing. I tried it in my T410/T420. Both have the same issue. They dont eject properly so you need a pair of pliers to pull it out.

It works best in my T400s as the bevelled opening means enough of the card protrudes that you can just use your finger to pull it out and the eject spring has enough force.

I guess this is normal for China spec cards.

You mean it actually works in your T420 without causing the system to stutter like a madman? Unless you globally disabled ASPM in the BIOS, I'd say I'm surprised. :)

I had the same experience with my USB Expresscard-- it would get stuck, even after removing the label stickers. Eventually the problem went away, though I don't know whether the Expresscard slot cage loosened after the repeated insertion and removal, or the card's metal cover simply conformed to the slot.
