HELP: Strange Pixel

#1 Post by jhonyl » Fri Jun 10, 2005 8:31 am

Hi,
I have got a strange pixel on the upper left corner of my LCD screen. It is acting out on me!!! I noticed it for the first time when it was pure white. I opened a program that shows a uniform color over the entire LCD that helps to locate dead pixels, and looked at the strange pixel with a magnifying glass, and saw that when the screen was black it was white, but when the screen had an other color say RED, then that color say RED was off, and the rest were on. I restarted the computer, and the problem was gone. But then it came back. So I thought maybe one program that I use cause it. I logged off and logged back in, and the problem was gone again. I now avoid some programs to see if it is their fault, but I now noticed that the pixel is acting out again, now it is completely OFF, and don't change with the rest of the pixels. I logged off and on again and the problem was solved again. Does anyone knows about this strange pixel? How to solve this?

tapping gently on the frame directly above then directly to the left of the pixel may help. but more than likely that's temporary help.
just hope it ends up stuck off, not stuck on!

I had the same problem before. This is what I got from other TP forum members:

from K. En:

Do a search for "UltraNav bug"

I believe this is a software and not a hardware problem.

from nonny:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... tranav+bug

Hope this helps. :D
