ExpressCard Gigabit use on a Thinkpad?

I am considering using an old Thinkpad for this - Yes, we can buy new tiny boxes, but then it needs a monitor & maybe a battery/ ups.

With a Thinkpad, if a Gigabit Express Card works on it, then I'll have a small self contained box with a tiny screen that can be viewed & battery power.

Any experiences, reviews, recommendations on model/ chipsets/ drivers/ OS .. etc to think about?

What's the justification for having this particular solution? Almost any Thinkpad that has an ExpressCard also has onboard Gigabit Ethernet.

He's going to use it as a firewall so he needs two Ethernet ports.

Missed the firewall part. It was buried beneath too many layers.
