In what temperatures can a Thinkpad operate?

I am considering bringing my Thinkpad on a trip to the Badlands in South Dakota next month. The temperatures will likely get pretty warm and the laptop will be left in the car for many hours at a time. It will be far away from direct sunlight, I may even put it in the trunk of the car. Is this bad for a laptop or are 90-100 degree temperatures okay, when out of the sun's direct light?

According to the service/troubeshooting guide that came with a T42, upper operating ambient temperature limit is 35'C (95'F) at altitudes up to 2438m. Non-operating upper limit is 43'C (110'F).
