T61 Battery Has Greater Remaining Capacity Than Design Capacity?

Hi Guys and Gals!

Have not seen this before... A fairly new Sanyo 42T4619 for a T61...

Design Capacity: 84.24 Wh

Remaining Capacity: 86.86 Wh

This after a half dozen deplete-recharge cycles over a few months!

Have I found the "Holy Grail" of batteries.... one that not only never goes down, but increases it's capacity as it gets used? :D :D :D

Anyone ever had this before?

Thanks. Regards.
Dave

I have a T430 70+ 6 cell with similar quirk. 58wh full charge capacity, 54wh design.

It's actually pretty common. Unfortunately it does not last forever. :)

Ok thanks dr_st.....

DRATS :( :(

Was hoping I would NEVER have to buy another T6x battery

In fact, I WAS planning on harnessing the exponentially growing power of this Thinkpad battery to

run the washer, dryer, dishwasher, 2 x Big-Screen TV's, Internet Router, electric chainsaw,

electric lawnmower, electric can-opener, and with any excess power after that, charge the

portable generator battery and convert some to 220V for the arc welder.....

Now.... Not so Much ! :( :( :(

LOL.

Dave, can you send me some of *whatever* you've been drinking/smoking/ingesting these days? I literally threw up my coffee from laughing at your post...

Sorry George....didn't mean to make you gag like that!

The secret is the Canadian maple syrup....well... maybe not the syrup itself...

The trick is you have to smoke it, not pour it on pancakes!

I've just completed a negotiation with St.Thomas Energy, and they've agreed I can plug into their grid and power the street lights on my street for the next month!

And all this from a new Thinkpad battery...best investment I've ever made!

Outta' here! :jhem: :jhem: :jhem:
