ThinkVantage Password Manager to be Replaced with True Key

#1 Post by USSS » Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:19 pm

X230 Tablet with Windows 7 Pro x64.

Has anyone downloaded and installed the latest update to ThinkVantage Password Manager (v4.70.22.0), which replaces it with Intel’s True Key (www.truekey.com)? Here’s the ReadMe, which doesn’t shed much light: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobi ... 020005.txt

I’ve backed up my password file before installing this. But is this replacement the Free version of TrueKey, which is limited to 15 logins? If you want unlimited logins, you apparently have to upgrade to the Premium version of TrueKey for $19.99/year.

UPDATE: 8/19/2017 @ 0900z
I ran this updater, and all it did was to reinstall my existing version of ThinkVantage Password Manager (v4.70.18.0). The ReadMe for this update states it would simply add a "reminder" that this application will be upgraded to True Key at some point. However, no such reminder appeared, so I guess we're back to Square One.
