Help with new X category machine.

#1 Post by cipurian » Tue Oct 17, 2017 4:41 pm

Avid t60 fan user looking to replace x300. I'm generally looking at x220 up until now.
Things I consider important and in following order:
1.) Built quality and reliability
2.) Being future proof
3.) Running cool and quiet
4.) Display quality
Keyboard, Performance, battery life, weight and so on are on the bottom.

Thanks everyone for your assistance.

X230 i7 is your best bet. They run cool, it is only 4 years old and still a high powered processor. 16gb RAM and you are set for a few years. A 1080p mod will boost your display to amazing and you can slap on a 19+ battery for excellent battery life. A keyboard mod will suit if you would like that. They are not as well built as an X300 or T60 but still solid machines. No complaints in the build quality department.
Just collecting vintage machines....Thinkpads included.
