Identifying unknown keyboard - yellow and white switches?

#1 Post by OhneHerren » Thu Oct 19, 2017 12:35 am

Hi. I bought a new keyboard for my X62 from a local seller here in Australia (I needed a replacement for my malfunctioning keyboard fast so I decided to risk getting a keyboard from an inferior keyboard manufacturer). I am having trouble finding information on the manufacturer though. Most of the keyswitches are yellow, with some being white. The keys feel a little more matte than the smooth keys on my semi-functioning blue-switch NMB keyboard (although perhaps they will also become smooth over time; I don't think I've ever used a new NMB keyboard). As far as the typing experience, it is too early for me to tell, but I am a little irked by the feel at this early juncture. The trackpoint also I am miffed by, but it could just be the slightly increased sensitivity that is apparent. It'll do for now though. Does anyone have any info on this yellow/white keyboard? Thanks.

Based on that eBay listing I have a Type 2 keyboard (which I assume is Chicony as my arrow key scissors are oriented like the top image here).
