I have two ATM:

T420
L412

With a possible X series on its way too.

I consider Two TP's too many, so three is getting a bit lary for me.....

If you don't have one of every Thinkpad ever made, are you truly a collector?

I think until you do have them all you are considered a collector.

If you had them all, you would no longer be collecting, hence you would no longer be a collector.

  :D True, that.

I have only two now but I've had as many as 9 at one time. I've had a number of other laptops over the years, and still have two Dells, but I always keep coming back to the older ThinkPads.
So far, I've had T41, T42, T43, T61, T61p, Z61t, R500, and T500 as personals, all recycle bin/eBay rescues. The R500 was the one I didn't really like. It was a bit too thick and I hated the lid lip.

Some of the statements here concerning how many is too many have made me laugh out loud, something I needed.

Overall I have piled up about 40 Thinkpads, oldest T23, newest X240s.
12 of them are X-series.
Now that my house is sold, I also sold off a boatload of my PCs, laptops and laptop parts.
To give you an idea of WHAT I sold, see this: https://imgur.com/a/lmQsduC
All went to 1 lucky buyer!

Right now I have only 1 PC and 9 Thinkpads left:
2x T23
1x E530
1x X230
1x X240
2x X240s
1x X250
1x T440p
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
Lenovo: X240, X250, T440p, T480, M900 Tiny.
