Blank Display problem (not screensaver)

I have a strange problem from my friend's Thinkpad 350c unit...

In about every 2 minutes, the display goes blank. I tapped on any keys, it went back to normal. I thought it could be the Screensaver settings. So, I set it to 60 minutes (1 hour) and set to Flying Windows. Still, it went blank in 2 minutes and no Flying Windows. Ummm, I rebooted and went to DOS mode. Still, it went blank in 2 minutes. Obviously, it was not the Window95 Screensaver settings. It has to do with the computer DOS settings.

Any ideas of how to solve it?
