Drivers for "Options by IBM"

#1 Post by FryPpy » Fri May 04, 2018 4:19 pm

Yes. We have good collection of drivers for our beloved ThinkPads. But where one can find drivers for ThinkPad options made by IBM?

SK-8845 (T4x-like keyboard with USB) is the main problem. There are many topics there and on other forums. I have tested many drivers and combinations but can't make it work all features it have. Basicly kayboard and ultranav is working. But not all Fn combo is working well and 3nd button scrolling working not so good as on original ThinkPad's keyboard.

Last week i've got 2 gems from IBM:
UltraPort Camera II. Kit in original box but without CD. Have find Faceit program on the net but all links to drivers are going to IBM's site and redirects to Lenovo's trash bin where i can't find anything:( Bad hing that modern OS (linke XP) can't recognise UltraPort Camera as a standard webcam.

Portable Drive Bay. All works under XP, but the diskette (09N4145) can't be read:( Even LS-120 can't help me with it:( Have't tested yet bootability from PCMCIA interface on 560X.
On XP all things are working on USB and PCMCIA interfaces but i have discovered some hints and tricks;)
ThinkWiki wrote: Ultrabay 2000

The Ultrabay 2000 slot is a full featured one and supports hot swapping with all Ultrabay 2000 drives. However, the Ultrabay 2000 battery pack is NOT supported.
This is not quite right. User Manual states that PDB 2000 can accept some CD/DVD drives, LS-120 and HDD bay.
Floppy Drive haven't worked on both USB and PCMCIA interfaces.
But ZIP-250 works well;)
Have tested SATA to Ultrabay 2000 adapter and it works. But PDB 2000 have only USB 1.1 controller and it works darn SLOW.
Have tested some CD/DVD drives and some can't work and windows device manager writes that driver for Portable Drive Bay can't start. All bad devices was manufactured after 2001. But i have one non IBM DVD-RW drive in ultrabay enclosure from 2005 and it works well.

So may be some one can help me with this old software. And may be it is time to make section for "Options by IBM" in our "Drivers" site.

Two years have passed and i have found it.
Today i've got "IBM USB serial parallel adapter" and begin hunting for driver...
Find one on old IBM PCCBBS clone site:
http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/options/usbpssetup.exe
This is original driver from IBM and it is up to XP only.
For those who want to use IBM USB serial parallel adapter on Win7+ i have find other driver from Prolific:
http://www.prolific.com.tw/UserFiles/fi ... _v1200.zip

And after googling some time i have found things for UltraPort Camera II too:
User manual:
http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/options/c79mipt1.pdf
Driver:
http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/options/id4packeng.exe
There are more drivers with different languages:
id4packbra.exe
id4packcha.exe
id4packeng.txt
id4packfre.exe
id4packger.exe
id4packita.exe
id4packjpn.exe
id4packspa.exe
And FaceIt app (grandfather of Windows Hello for oldschool Windows OSes)
http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/options/faceit1009_up.exe

PS
Haven't tested Ultraport Camera stuff right now, but serial parallel adapter works ok.
Links may be broken in future but you can use filenames and google to find new sources. Or can send me PM and i can share what i have.
