SK-8855 keyboard module swap?

#1 Post by RichardG867 » Mon Jan 14, 2019 9:09 am

Hey everyone,

I'm considering getting a SK-8855 keyboard, however it doesn't appear to exist in my local layout (Brazilian), probably due to the registry editing required to get one of the keys working. I do however have a T410 keyboard with that layout, and I was wondering if I could swap the keyboard module on a SK-8855?

The registry editing is not a concern as I would use the SK-8855 as the only keyboard on a single system.

Yep 100% compatible with keyboards from T410/T510/X220/T420/T520.

I've done it on my SK-8855, I bought the SK-8855 with French AZERTY layout and then replaced by a T410 keyboard with QWERTZ Swiss layout.

Just like Brazilian layout, SK-8855 is impossible to find with QWERTZ-Swiss layout ;)

I do not understand the hype with this keyboard. As soon as I type on it, I want to go back to the x61 with NMB keyboard. The buttons of the trackpoint are too flat .

1: I go back to my full height travel mechanical keyboard and a mouse.
2: They didn't make the 6x series machine keyboard in a USB form.
3: If you want the higher TP buttons, get the IBM version of this keyboard with the T4x buttons.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Well, SK-8855 is just as bad or as good as the X220 keyboard...

If you don't like the default keyboard in it (maybe a Chicony or Alps), then just replace it with a X220 NMB keyboard ;)
