Startup BIOS time

#1 Post by natrix » Wed May 01, 2019 3:54 am

How long your ThinkPads take to boot BIOS?
You can see it in Task Manager - Startup tab - Last BIOS time.

I'm asking because I have some doubts about my X1C6. It takes (tried many times and the result is always the same):
reboot - 8.4 sec
cold start - 5.8 sec
with DockStation attached reboot - 13.3 sec
with DockStation attached cold start - 10.6 sec

While my old ASUS UX301LA (2013) takes 1.2 - 1.8 sec only.

I asked a technician of the IBM service and he told that it seems that ThinkPads take more time to boot BIOS than this ASUS ultrabook. But I want to be sure that it's not some malfunction.

Could you write here what "Last BIOS time" your ThinkPad shows?

And from my TP25 (via USB-C dock): 26.7 seconds

So I say, you have no reason to worry.
