R61: replacement of the display, comaptibility

#1 Post by BigCatAndy » Sun Sep 06, 2020 1:21 am

Hello,

I have one question about hardware. I need to replace broken display on R61 (14,1" wide), and I have two options to choose from - T61 or R400 (both 14,1" wide). Which of them is compatible with R61?

Thanks in advance,
Andrey

I believe T61's entire lid is a direct swap over to the R61. The 14" R61 is effectively just a 14" T61 with a heightened base section and cheaper base materials.

Going from a T400 is a little more complicated, the LCD cables are different and it could have an LED display with AFAIK T61 and R61 cannot use.
