Are 600 series Li-Ion batteries still being made?

No way! They stopped years ago.

Manufacture Dates

#1 Post by whizkid » Wed Jul 20, 2005 7:56 am

I just got four 600-series batteries from Lenovo. (They are still on clearance from Lenovo for $59 each!)

The boxes are all printed with IBM's logo (as I would have expected), but there is an English and Chinese label, then the bar code label. I got four consecutive serial numbers, but here's the kicker:

The stickers on the box all say the date of manufacture (for Lenovo) is 2005-07-01.

So, in your opinion, is this a re-badge with a new sticker, and they didn't have the real date, or is it really the correct date and they are stamping these things out for some reason?

Speak up, all you pundits and anyone who might have an opinion on this.

The batteries are still being manufactured.

The four I purchased when the sale first started are all dated FEB 4, 2005 and were made in Japan, packed and tested in Futian Free Trade Zone, PRC.

Mine have consecutive serial numbers also.
