I know this has been covered, and I can't find anything by searching --
so I'll put this out again -- On a new Thinkpad with an 80 GB hard drive, how much free space will be available "out of the box". I know that an 80 GB hard drive, when formatted and even with nothing on it, only has around 75 GB from the start -- with all of the IBM software, pre-desktop area, recovery partition, etc. etc., what will I find when I get my new Thinkpad shortly? Thanks!

You will find someone knocking on the door soon with your thinkpad. Yes, you will have around 75GB to use.

I don't remember exactly how much; but after the OS, IBM software, pre-desktop area, etc., I think there was about 65-67GB left.

I just got the new TP with 80GB HD and there is 65GB of free space.
