iseries (1200) 1161-41u question

#1 Post by razzy8 » Sat Aug 13, 2005 7:38 pm

Hello,

I have the above model 550MHz, 192MB RAM, 60gig HD. I am running windows XP on it (a little slow, but not bad).
The model I have came with a 12.1" TFT screen. I think that this model also came with a 13.3" screen. The 12.1" max resolution is 800x600 and I think the 13.3" can go up to 1024x768.
Anyway, I was thinking it would be nice to upgrade the screen from 12.1" to 13.3", I found the instructions on how to remove the screen on this forum (THANKS!) Does anyone know if:

1) this is possible
2) the 13.3" screen would plug in ok
3) if there is a place one could find such an animal
4) is it worth the effort
5) any other, more readily available screen that would work also

Thanks in advance :D

While I don't know about your particular model, I did read the following:

Maybe if you replace the motherboard with that of a 13" model, you could use the 13" screen but it'd probably be easier to just buy a used 13" ThinkPad on eBay than to buy the motherboard and screen then go through the trouble of installing both.

Latitude E7250: i5 5300U 2.3ghz, 12gb RAM, 12" 1080p touch, 256gb SSD, Win 10
