Access Connections processes/alternative?

#1 Post by pipspeak » Wed Aug 17, 2005 2:53 pm

Does anyone know of an alternative to the Access Connections software on a T-series for controlling the wireless connection (other than Windows)?

I like the IBM software but it's a heck of a memory hog -- the three background processes (Qconsvc.exe, Qctray.exe, and Qcwlicon.exe) between them consume more than 25MB of memory, which seems an awful lot for what they do.

Cirond WinC is one that I've used that works well.
It's 20 bucks or so last I checked free trials were available
There's always freebies like Netstumbler available too...

you can get rid of the Qcwlicon.exe process easily and free up about 15 MB Memory: Open Access Connections -> Options -> Global Options and deactivate the checkbox "Show symbol for wireless connections" (or something like this, I just translated it from german). Not the world but better than nothing.
