In doing my research i noticed that similar equip laptop has different model numbers. I was wondering if anyone know they mean? Is it country specific? Or different channel specific? What about he last 3 letters?
I ask because i noticed 1 model was cheaper than the other but the specs look the same.
Awesome site by the way.

All IBM computers have a four digit model number then there's three numbers following that indicate the package and the country.

I understand the first four digits but not the last three. They make no sense. IBM (Lenovo) seems to have models specified for education, regions, corporate, express, and every other variation. But they all seem to be freely available to anyone, anywhere, which makes me wonder why they bother with so many models.

i never understood this either... why not just have a few base models and give people the ability to upgrade (like in the dell webshops).
