I'm looking for a USB or Firewire enclosure for my 8gb and 25gb Travelstars (I believe they're both 17mm); do they exist?

I would suspect that if these drives have the normal 2.5" hard disk drive connections, they would fit into a USB enclosure designed for laptop drives. I have an enclosure from Safecom that fits my Travelstar hard disk drives perfectly. See http://safecom.cn/code/sub/category.asp?subcatid=12 for more details. I'm in the UK and got my enclosure from http://www.qtds.co.uk

You can also try these enclosures. Bytecc seems to have the best controllers. I have tried 2-3 other enclosures, and these are the best as far as connectivity (Windows, GHOST and ACRONIS TI).

Thanks for the responses. The Bytecc only takes 9.5mm drives and I need the 17mm form factor. The safe com website doesn't have the specs saying if it takes the 17mm drives.

I think 17mm is 3.5" harddrive, 9.5mm is 2.5"

The older travelstars are 17mm 2.5". I have two of them. 3.5" won't quite fit into my 770ED
