I'm using the IBM Access Connection utility to manage my profiles (even though I only have one profile). In global settings I have it set to "allow wireless authenication using Windows login username and password." Now when I start my computer, right before my desktop loads, the Access Connections utility starts conecting to my router.
However for some reason after it completes and the desktop loads I get an error message saying "Windows Host Script is Disabled, Please Contact Your Adminster." I downoaded a utility that allows me to enable and disable it, when I ran the program and picked enabled I still got error. The only thing I can think of is one of the microsoft services that I disabled is causing the conflict. I just have no idea which one.
The computer and network work fine. It doesn't actually effect anything, just shows that dumb popup on every logon. If I can't figure out how to get ride of that error message, what's the easiest way to turn off the IBM utility and go back to the windows xp zero-config wireless utility.

I wasted a whole saturday afternoon to fix exactly the very same problem that suddenly occured after the latest Microsoft Windows update (f..ckdate!). Those Rednose guys seemed to just turn off by default a potentially unreliable service "Windows scripting".
But that service is needed for a lot of programs.
I checked with a second thinkpad before I upgraded that as well.
I solved that problem by setting the enabled = 1 flag in the registry.
regedit, hk-local machine, software, microsoft, windows script hosting (there are 2 entries) and then enabled (change to 1).
After that everything is back to normal.
