Intel and Windows sticker on the Thinkpads...

#1 Post by STS06 » Thu Aug 25, 2005 1:16 am

Just curious but as anyone removed the Intel Centrino and Windows stickers off of their TP (below the left side of the keyboard). Just wondering if this voids any warranties or not...might be a dumb question but there are products where removing certian stickers can void the warranties!

First off, companies can't just "void warranty" for anything they like -- there are reasonable limits. They would have to at least explain how something like removing stickers could impact the useability of the laptop.

Naw, the stickers are just "branding", each one bought and paid for.

I peeled them off on Day1. Looks nicer, and feels smooth under the palm. I know what CPU, WiFi, and OS are in the machine.

I removed my stickers (peel, then goo-gone) when I first got the machine. I had my palmrest replaced recently because it was damaged during the servicing of an unrelated problem. IBM put a new palmrest with no stickers on for me. So, they have nothing to do with the warranty.
