600E bios update

#1 Post by tony6264 » Thu Aug 25, 2005 2:26 pm

I just picked up a thinkpad 600E and the bios is dated back to 1999.
There have been several updates available since then....do I need to do all the past ones in order or can I just do the most current one and it takes care of all past updates as well?
thanks

You can go straight to the most current one.

Even the ones released after 2000-01-01 will be dated 1999. This is because most OSes check the date and use APM if before that date, and ACPI if after.

IBM likes older machines to use APM, because it seems to work better on older machines.
